OS3 functions through a cloud-based core that connects to individual hardware via a local rabbit agent. By installing this agent, users can link up to five devices—ranging from Windows and Mac PCs to cloud VMs and Rabbit’s own r1 hardware—under a unified digital identity. The system automatically determines the optimal device for a requested task, shifting workloads between them as necessary to ensure a continuous, linear conversation history that persists across every screen.

Flexibility remains a central pillar of the release, with Rabbit adopting an open approach to model integration and skill execution. Users can plug in API keys from various frontier AI labs or locally hosted models, switching between them without losing context. Furthermore, the platform supports universal skill compatibility; users simply paste a skill’s URL into the chat to enable new functionalities. To address security, the local agent keeps sensitive files on the user’s machine, while the system requires explicit confirmation for sensitive actions, ensuring the AI operates strictly within the boundaries of user intent.
