The certification process, conducted under Version 1.6 of B Lab’s standards, evaluated the company across governance, worker treatment, community engagement, and environmental impact. CEO Jordan Saxemard noted that the status provides a structured methodology to measure the brand's footprint as it matures. The company, a subsidiary of L'OCCITANE Group, highlighted its internal focus on diversity and employee engagement as key contributors to the successful assessment.
Beyond internal operations, the brand is leveraging its 2024-established Sol de Janeiro Foundation to formalize its philanthropic efforts. This entity currently supports 13 partner organizations with a focus on biodiversity conservation in Brazil and the empowerment of young women globally. Leadership, including Saxemard and SVP Chopin Rabin, are utilizing the Climate Week platform to discuss the complexities of scaling a high-growth consumer brand while maintaining these sustainability mandates.
