The system processes calls by analyzing the customer's needs rather than relying on department guessing games. According to the company, Operator successfully routes 95% of calls to the correct destination 24/7. Unlike previous AI receptionist tools that merely automated greetings, this platform integrates with Numa’s existing operating system, which currently supports over 1,300 dealerships across the United States and Canada. By transferring the call with full context, the software ensures that employees receive the necessary information before they pick up the receiver, allowing them to bypass preliminary screening and focus on resolving the specific issue at hand.
CEO Tasso Roumeliotis describes the shift as a move away from the inefficient phone trees that have dominated dealership communications for three decades. The platform is built on the same infrastructure that has processed over one billion calls and texts to date. Numa plans to demonstrate the technology live at the Digital Dealer Conference & Expo, held September 22–23 at Huntington Place in Detroit, where attendees can interact with the system at booth #503.
