The initiative, titled When the Host Needs Hosting, addresses a common travel fatigue: the burden of managing logistics while on vacation. Data from a recent survey by IHG and Talker indicates that 67% of Americans feel they are perpetually responsible for organizing plans for others, a duty that often transforms leisure time into labor. Dimoldenberg, known for her sharp, awkward interview style, argues that even the most seasoned hosts require a reprieve from their duties to properly recharge.
To bridge the gap between concept and reality, the hotel group is introducing a curated experience called Hosted Like A Host. This package, designed to mirror Dimoldenberg’s personal travel preferences, is available exclusively to IHG One Rewards members. Starting September 21, members can bid points for stays at properties including the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown, the Kimpton Surfcomber Miami South Beach, and Hotel Indigo Lower East Side New York. While Dimoldenberg serves as the inaugural face of the campaign, the brand intends to roll out similar content featuring diverse hosts across Australia, Mexico, and Europe in the coming months.
