Huawei Debuts AI Practice LAB to Bridge Industry-Academia Gap

Traditional theoretical teaching is struggling to keep pace with the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence. To address this, Huawei’s AIPL solution shifts the focus toward hands-on application, utilizing anonymized industrial data and live engineering scenarios. The initiative aims to move beyond classroom abstraction, ensuring graduates possess the technical proficiency required by modern employers.

Tao Jingwen, Deputy Chairman of Huawei’s Supervisory Board, emphasized that the company is building the infrastructure necessary to connect academic research with innovation. The solution has already been deployed at institutions including the Beijing Institute of Technology and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, supported by 12 initial industry partners.

Alongside the lab infrastructure, Huawei released the "AI+ Practical Teaching White Paper." This document outlines a structured five-part framework—spanning from foundational elements to a multi-party ecosystem—intended to guide educators in redesigning pedagogy for the intelligence era. By embedding real-world business challenges into the student experience, Huawei seeks to standardize a model where cutting-edge technology serves as a primary educational resource.
