BG brings a extensive resume to the Southborough-based company, having previously held senior roles at major organizations including PCCW, Infosys, and ABB. His career is marked by the scaling of multi-billion dollar business engines and the navigation of large-scale acquisition integrations. Virtusa CEO Nitesh Banga highlighted the incoming chairman’s capacity to guide enterprises through technological disruption and shifting geopolitical landscapes as a primary asset for the company’s future growth.
The leadership change concludes a months-long transition for the firm. BG succeeds Raj Mehta, who held the chairmanship since 2022 and was credited with steering Virtusa’s evolution from a founder-led company into a professional services organization. While Mehta will depart the board on October 1st, he will maintain his status as an investor in the firm. Reflecting on his new appointment, BG noted that he intends to leverage his background in engineering and client-centric innovation to steer Virtusa through an industry landscape increasingly defined by the rapid adoption of AI.
