Platformr Updates CloudOps Tooling for AWS MSP Validation 8.0

The VCL 8.0 update represents a fundamental shift in how AWS evaluates its service partners. The new standard encompasses 61 total controls, with nearly 40% being entirely new additions. These requirements now demand comprehensive oversight of agentic AI lifecycles, prompt injection prevention, and specialized observability for generative AI workloads. Furthermore, AWS has retrofitted 27 existing controls to account for AI integration, ensuring that traditional practices like change and vulnerability management now account for model-specific risks and agent dependencies.

CEO Ryan Comingdeer noted that the update forces a transition from reactive support to a predictive, AI-driven delivery model. With the managed services market projected to reach $645 billion this year, AWS is pushing partners to move beyond legacy infrastructure management. Platformr is currently assisting MSPs in mapping their existing cloud operations—including multi-account governance and landing zone deployments—against the VCL 8.0 checklist to ensure they maintain their partner status during the transition.
