JDEnergy and WDenergia Target 200 MWh in Spanish Storage Push

With Spain’s renewable sector demanding greater grid flexibility, JDEnergy has joined forces with local partner WDenergia to deploy modular energy storage systems. The collaboration centers on a 200 MWh framework agreement, aiming to leverage string-based architecture to stabilize voltage and frequency across commercial and industrial project sites.

The technical core of this expansion is JDEnergy’s string PCS architecture, which moves away from conventional centralized designs. By providing independent control at the battery-cluster level, the system eliminates traditional DC-side parallel connections. This granularity allows each cluster to charge and discharge based on its specific health, effectively mitigating degradation and boosting overall energy utilization throughout the project lifecycle.

To bridge technical theory with field deployment, JDEnergy is introducing its eBlock-418A solution to the Spanish market. Already active in Germany, Italy, Japan, and Hungary, the modular unit supports grid-forming capabilities that allow operators to regulate voltage and frequency independently. By combining this hardware with WDenergia’s local EPC expertise, the partners intend to address the specific operational hurdles facing Spain’s evolving energy grid.
