InCoax Secures Repeat Order as Fibernet Finland Expands Regional Reach

Fibernet Finland has placed a fresh order worth approximately EUR 70,000 for InCoax Networks' fiber extension technology, marking a deepening partnership as the operator pushes broadband services into smaller municipalities. This latest commitment follows successful deployments across more than 150 apartment buildings, signaling a shift toward sustained, repeatable infrastructure growth.

The deal highlights a strategic pivot in the Finnish broadband market, where operators are increasingly looking to optimize deployment costs in regional cities. By utilizing existing in-building coaxial infrastructure, Fibernet avoids the labor-intensive process of installing new cabling, allowing for faster subscriber activation. This approach is particularly effective in Finland, where the construction season for outdoor fiber trenching is limited to the warmer months, while indoor installation work can proceed year-round.

InCoax CEO Jakob Tobieson noted that the relationship with Fibernet represents a transition from experimental pilot projects to a reliable, recurring business model. As the operator scales its network, InCoax’s technology—specifically the D2501 units capable of delivering symmetrical 1 Gbps speeds—serves as a bridge for properties where traditional fiber-to-the-unit installation remains prohibitively complex. With roughly 130 operators currently competing in the Finnish market, the ability to rapidly convert fiber coverage into active broadband connections has become a critical competitive advantage.
