Garrett Patten Brings The Iron Door to TCL Chinese Theatre

On September 17, the biker horror-thriller The Iron Door makes its world premiere at the TCL Chinese Theatre, arriving on major VOD and home video platforms the same night. This release marks another milestone for director Garrett Patten, whose 2026 slate continues to expand across both film and television projects.

Patten’s latest feature draws from century-old desert folklore rooted in California’s Yucca Valley, specifically the legend of gold miner Johnny Lang. The project serves as a cornerstone for his production house, TBK Productions, which has maintained a relentless development schedule this year. Beyond his work in the director’s chair, Patten has balanced his portfolio with on-screen performances, most notably in the thriller Self Custody.

That short film, which features Adrien Grenier, Henry Cejudo, and Odette Annable, explores the frantic search for a lost Bitcoin fortune. Following a successful premiere at SXSW’s Alamo Drafthouse, the project is currently streaming on platforms including Prime Video and Tubi. TBK Productions is now actively expanding that narrative into a full television series.

Patten’s creative output remains diverse as he looks toward future endeavors. His development pipeline includes a narrative feature focusing on The Grateful Dead through a child's perspective and a biopic centered on Mike Tyson. By securing a wide release for The Iron Door, Patten transitions from the independent festival circuit to a broader audience, reinforcing his commitment to maintaining a robust slate of genre-bending content.
