M&S expands London footprint with new Bell Green food store

Marks and Spencer is set to open a new food store at the Bell Green Retail Park in South East London this Wednesday, September 16. The launch marks another step in the retailer’s strategy to bolster its presence in the capital through a series of new openings and site refurbishments.

The new location, situated near Lower Sydenham train station, will operate from 8am to 9pm, Monday through Saturday, with Sunday hours running from 10.30am to 4.30pm. This addition follows recent store launches in Tooting and precedes a planned opening at the Elephant & Castle development later this year.

Alex Freudmann, Managing Director of M&S Food, described the expansion as a core element of the company’s current transformation phase. The retailer is actively reinvesting in London to better serve families and commuters, focusing on its “Remarksable Value” product range and mobile food innovations. The broader expansion plan, which also includes the relocation of the Tottenham Court Road store, is expected to generate 150 new jobs across the city.
