TransactionTree hires Peter Ingram to spearhead retail expansion

TransactionTree has appointed industry veteran Peter Ingram as Senior Vice President of Strategy and Partnerships to drive the firm’s expansion into the convenience and fuel retail sector. Ingram brings over 25 years of experience in retail technology, specifically focusing on the complex integration of point-of-sale and fuel systems.

Ingram joins the AI-powered retail platform with a mandate to refine how retailers handle data across physical and digital storefronts. He argues that the industry currently suffers from an overabundance of fragmented dashboards that fail to provide actionable, real-time insights for associates on the ground. According to Ingram, the traditional concept of the back office has dissolved, necessitating a shift toward business strategies that follow the shopper wherever they are.

Kevin Saum, CEO at TransactionTree, emphasized that retailers are currently failing to leverage their most valuable asset: the transaction record. He noted that many companies mistakenly attempt to apply AI layers to siloed data, resulting in conflicting insights rather than a unified view of the enterprise. Saum stated that the company’s primary objective under Ingram’s guidance is to establish a trusted, real-time record of operations before attempting further automation, a step he believes the industry has historically struggled to achieve.
