Chipotle Adds Former KFC CEO Sabir Sami to Board

Sami spent 16 years at Yum! Brands, where he oversaw strategy and performance for KFC, Taco Bell, and Habit Burger & Grill. His tenure as KFC CEO ended in February 2025, following a career that included managing director roles across Asia, the Middle East, and Turkey. Before his time at Yum! Brands, he held leadership positions at global consumer goods companies including Procter & Gamble and The Coca-Cola Co.

Scott Maw, Chairman of the Chipotle board, noted that Sami’s background in international market expansion and restaurant operations will assist the company’s efforts to strengthen its global footprint. Sami currently runs his own consulting firm, Sami Advisory, and sits on the board of Save the Children Canada. With this addition, the Chipotle board expands to 11 members, 10 of whom serve as independent directors.
