The new panel receptacles serve as a high-capacity interface for connecting trunk cables to power equipment like central inverters and combiner boxes. Rated for up to 1500 V and 620 A, these components utilize proprietary MULTILAM technology to maintain low contact resistance and consistent force. Engineers can choose between fork contact designs for busbar applications or threaded contacts for copper and aluminum cable lugs, all while meeting UL6703 and CSA C22.2 standards.
To ensure durability in harsh conditions, the hardware includes IP68-rated sealing alongside mechanical and color-coded locking mechanisms. Complementing these are the permanent protective caps, which safeguard unused connection points from environmental damage. These caps also function as Lock Out/Tag Out devices during maintenance, allowing operators to safely reconfigure or expand systems without compromising site integrity. Brian Mills, head of renewable energy at Stäubli North America, noted that the suite is designed to simplify installation while meeting the growing demand for large-format power connections in regional energy projects.
