BTQ Technologies Validates Quantum-Ready Chip Architecture

Vancouver-based BTQ Technologies has reached a key milestone in its global roadmap for Quantum Compute-in-Memory (QCIM) architecture, successfully validating the core IP for post-quantum cryptographic standards alongside Taiwan’s Industrial Technology Research Institute.

The collaboration, which also involves ICTK Co., confirms the functional feasibility of the QCIM architecture within a 28-nanometre TSMC environment. Testing demonstrated that the system can accelerate cryptographic operations aligned with U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology protocols—specifically FIPS 203, 204, and 205—while maintaining efficiency under demanding operational conditions.

By executing these cryptographic functions directly within the memory subsystem, the architecture aims to minimize latency and power consumption for military, automotive, and IoT applications. Olivier Roussy Newton, CEO of BTQ, noted that the results provide a necessary foundation for moving beyond theoretical design toward commercial implementation. The program is now transitioning into module-level integration and verification, with BTQ planning to distribute test chips to strategic partners by the end of the year.
