Covenant HR Adds Identity Verification to Combat Candidate Fraud

With Gartner projecting that one in four candidate profiles will be fake by 2028, Covenant HR is integrating TurboCheck’s identity verification into its Scout™ platform. This move aims to curb the rise of AI-driven impersonation and resume fraud by allowing recruiters to confirm identities directly within their existing hiring workflow.

The integration allows hiring teams to initiate digital identity checks without switching between software, a process that typically returns results within five minutes. Recruiters can selectively apply these checks to finalists, balancing the need for security with the demand for hiring speed. By maintaining separate scores for job qualifications and authenticity, the system provides a dual-layered view of every applicant.

Casey Marquette, CEO of Covenant HR, emphasized that the shift toward automated deception is already forcing a change in recruitment standards. The platform has already processed over 155,000 resumes and 23,000 video interviews, flagging potential fraud in 6% of cases. Emmanuel Toutain, CEO of TurboCheck, noted that the objective is to provide practical risk assessment that does not hinder the pace of modern recruitment.
