Jared Leto Dropped From Political Thriller Amid Misconduct Allegations

Hollywood executives have reportedly removed Jared Leto from the upcoming political thriller Assassination, signaling a sharp shift in the actor's industry standing. The decision follows a wave of sexual misconduct allegations spanning two decades, transforming what was once considered a secure casting deal into a professional liability for the production team.

The Barry Levinson-directed project had been in discussions with Leto for over a year. While insiders initially described the actor's involvement as a done deal, the accumulation of public accusations made his participation untenable. Sources close to the production noted that while executives were aware of internal concerns regarding Leto's reputation, the sheer volume of women coming forward rendered the potential partnership impossible to justify.

At least nine women have accused the 54-year-old actor of inappropriate behavior, with several incidents allegedly involving minors. Among the claims is an account from Allie Teliz, who recounted an encounter in a 2012 social media post, and further allegations detailed in the BBC documentary Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. Leto has categorically denied all claims, stating he has never committed sexual assault, yet the industry fallout appears to be intensifying. With major roles in jeopardy and his career stability in question, Leto faces a growing divide between his legal defense and the court of public opinion, where casting directors are increasingly wary of the reputational risk associated with his name.
