Gerdau Profit Rises as North American Operations Drive Growth

Gerdau S.A. reported an adjusted EBITDA of R$3.4 billion for the second quarter of 2026, marking a 16% sequential increase. North American operations served as the primary engine for this performance, contributing 74% of the company's total consolidated earnings during a period of broad growth across all business segments.

Adjusted net income climbed to R$1.5 billion, representing a 45% jump from the first quarter and a 70% increase compared to the same period in 2025. This financial momentum prompted the company to authorize a dividend distribution of R$0.23 per share, totaling R$451.3 million, with payments scheduled to begin on September 11, 2026. Simultaneously, Gerdau continues to execute its 2026 share buyback program, having already repurchased 31% of the authorized volume.

Capital expenditures reached R$1.0 billion during the second quarter, keeping the company on pace with its R$4.7 billion annual investment guidance. Beyond financial results, the steelmaker is moving toward full ownership of Dona Francisca Energética. This acquisition is expected to push Gerdau’s self-generated energy capacity in Brazil to over 50% of its total consumption, marking a significant step in the company's energy independence strategy.
