Despite the acquisition-related expenses, the bank's core operations showed resilience. Net interest income grew 11.8% to $9.5 million compared to the second quarter of 2025, while the net interest margin expanded to 3.84%. For the first six months of 2026, the company posted a net income of $4.1 million, an improvement over the $3.9 million recorded during the first half of 2025.
Daniel J. Collins, President and Chief Executive Officer, noted that the results reflect the underlying earnings power of the franchise even while the company navigates the costs of the pending transaction. On a sequential basis, loan and deposit levels saw a slight decline, which management attributed to typical seasonal deployment of funds by customers and an elevated level of loan payoffs in North Dakota markets. As of June 30, 2026, the company maintained a strong capital position, with its tangible common equity ratio improving to 10.56%. The merger with OppFi, announced in April, continues to move through the regulatory and shareholder approval process.
