Kia America Hits Record July Sales Driven by Electrified Lineup

Kia America moved 75,857 vehicles in July, marking the company’s strongest performance for the month in history. This 7 percent year-over-year increase keeps the automaker on pace for its fourth consecutive annual sales record, fueled by surging demand for hybrid models and a diverse portfolio of SUVs and sedans.

Retailers saw an 8 percent uptick in sales compared to the same period last year, pushing the year-to-date total to 506,584 units. The growth was spearheaded by a 108 percent surge in hybrid model sales, while the broader electrified lineup grew by 52 percent. Specific models saw double-digit gains, notably the Sportage hybrid, which jumped 76 percent, and the Seltos, which rose 61 percent.

Eric Watson, vice president of sales operations at Kia America, attributed the momentum to widespread consumer interest across the brand’s entire range. He noted that the company’s ability to outperform in a tepid industry environment underscores the strength of its product pipeline. Looking ahead, Kia plans to sustain this growth with the launch of the all-electric EV3 later this year and the rollout of the redesigned 2027 Seltos. Beyond sales figures, the company also reported donating over $4.7 million to U.S. nonprofits in 2025 through its "Accelerate the Good" dealer program, supporting initiatives ranging from childhood hunger relief to veteran services.
