The device marks a significant evolution for the series, integrating a 1-inch sensor that utilizes LOFIC technology to manage high-contrast environments like night cityscapes and backlit portraits. Beyond the wide-angle primary lens, the new 60mm medium-telephoto option offers a 3x optical zoom and an f/1.8 aperture, designed to compress backgrounds for a distinct cinematic depth of field. DJI has also introduced a 10-bit D-Log 2 color profile, allowing creators to capture over a billion colors with enhanced flexibility for post-production grading.

Engineering and Performance

Weighing only 230 grams, the camera houses a 3-axis mechanical gimbal powered by the same stabilization logic found in the professional Ronin series. The system includes ActiveTrack 8.0, which maintains focus on moving subjects even when using the 12x zoom. For high-speed shooting, the hardware supports 4K recording at 240 fps for ultra-HD slow motion. Practical refinements include USB 3.1 support for 800 MB/s data transfers and a rapid-charging system capable of hitting 80% capacity in 18 minutes. The unit is available in black and pearl white, with a full ecosystem of modular accessories, including ND filters and specialized audio microphones, already available for the new chassis.
