The ELISIO-HX utilizes a proprietary super high-flux membrane designed to filter a broader range of toxins while maintaining essential albumin retention. By balancing these properties, the device aims to mitigate chronic complications associated with end-stage kidney disease without requiring providers to replace their current dialysis infrastructure or overhaul established clinical workflows.
Tsuyoshi Yamazaki, President and CEO of Nipro Corporation, noted that the primary objective is to make enhanced dialysis accessible within everyday practice. Because the technology functions within existing systems, clinics can adopt the treatment protocol without significant capital investment in new hardware. This U.S. launch follows previous implementations of the technology across markets in Japan, Europe, and Latin America.
Nipro plans to begin commercial distribution immediately, partnering with clinical facilities to integrate the device into standard care. Goichi Miyazumi, President of the company's Medical Business Global Division, emphasized that the rollout serves to bring advanced filtration capabilities to a wider patient population while supporting the existing expertise of dialysis staff.
