Matthew McConaughey Revives His Iconic Dazed and Confused Catchphrase

More than three decades after his breakout role as David Wooderson, Matthew McConaughey is repurposing his most famous cinematic line for a new brand venture. Alongside his wife, Camila, the actor has partnered with YETI to launch a limited-edition cooler that turns his iconic movie quote into a summer marketing campaign.

The collaboration centers on the phrase, “It’d be a lot cooler if you did,” originally delivered in the 1993 film Dazed and Confused. Instead of referencing party attendance, the updated slogan promotes the couple’s Pantalones Organic Tequila brand. The custom beige cooler features Western-inspired detailing and is specifically sized to house six bottles of the spirit, serving as the centerpiece for the brand’s ongoing “Official Tequila Of” advertising push.

In promotional spots, the pair demonstrates how a margarita can improve mundane activities like gardening or grilling. This marketing effort follows a recent expansion for Pantalones, which recently teamed up with Tipsy Scoop to launch a line of alcohol-infused ice cream. Since co-founding the Amatitán-based spirits company, the McConaugheys have focused on building a brand identity defined by irreverence and humor, moving their products into lifestyle categories beyond the traditional cocktail glass.
