The rapid expansion of the TradFi market within the crypto ecosystem is driven primarily by perpetual futures, which accounted for 98.5% of total volume in June. While precious metals initially fueled this growth, peaking at $236.76 billion in March, the focus has pivoted toward U.S. equities. Trading volume for U.S. stocks surged 337.4% in a single month to reach $189.84 billion, capturing nearly half of the total market share. This shift reflects growing interest in semiconductor and technology stocks, as well as anticipated high-profile listings.
Data from the six major platforms surveyed—including Binance, Bitget, OKX, Gate, and Bybit—indicates that these exchanges are successfully attracting two distinct demographics. Approximately 61.9% of crypto-native investors have begun diversifying into traditional assets, while 74.2% of users with prior TradFi experience are migrating their portfolios to crypto-native platforms. Investors cited the ability to manage diverse asset classes through a single account, coupled with lower friction and continuous market access, as the primary drivers for this transition. MEXC, which saw its own TradFi volume grow 59-fold by May, is positioning itself to capture further demand by expanding its product suite to include indices and broader commodity offerings.
