By narrowing its operational scope, CMS Energy intends to reduce financing requirements and concentrate capital on its primary utility business, Consumers Energy.
Despite the quarterly earnings dip, management reaffirmed its 2026 adjusted earnings guidance of $3.83 to $3.90 per share. Looking further ahead, the company introduced an initial earnings forecast for 2027, projecting between $4.08 and $4.17 per share. Executives continue to express confidence in achieving long-term adjusted EPS growth of 6 to 8 percent, emphasizing a commitment to stability as they transition away from independent power generation projects.
