Planet Fitness Investors Face Class Action Lawsuit Over Growth Claims

Investors who purchased Planet Fitness common stock between November 6, 2025, and May 6, 2026, are now eligible to join a securities fraud class action lawsuit. The legal action, led by Wolf Haldenstein Adler Freeman & Herz LLP, addresses significant financial losses following a major disclosure regarding the company's growth strategy.

The complaint alleges that Planet Fitness executives misled shareholders by failing to disclose that the company could not sustain membership growth without a substantial marketing overhaul. Specifically, the lawsuit claims the company's reliance on a planned Black Card price increase lacked a reasonable basis, leaving investors uninformed about the fragility of the firm's projected financial trajectory.

On May 7, 2026, the company revealed a collapse in same-store growth, slashing projections from 5% to just 1% and abandoning a three-year growth algorithm introduced only months earlier. Management cited a failed marketing campaign and intense competition as primary drivers for the retreat. Following the announcement, Planet Fitness shares plummeted $19.95, closing down 31.2% at $44.01. Affected shareholders must file as lead plaintiffs by September 14, 2026.
