3Shape Earns Tenth Red Dot Award for TRIOS MOVE Pro Design

Copenhagen-based 3Shape has secured a 2026 Red Dot Award for its TRIOS MOVE Pro, a dental scanner cart praised by judges for its integration of mobility and ergonomic utility. This accolade marks the tenth time the digital dentistry innovator has been recognized by the international design competition for its clinical hardware.

The jury highlighted the system’s architecture, noting its ability to support flexible workflows while maintaining transparent communication between clinicians and patients. CEO Jacob Vishof Paulsen credited the achievement to the company's long-standing philosophy of balancing performance, usability, and aesthetics to improve the dental clinic experience.

The hardware features a vertical structure that consolidates the screen, scanner, and computing components into a single unit. By employing rounded edges and smooth surfaces, the design aims to reduce the clinical appearance of the equipment, helping to create a more approachable environment for patients. Chief Designer Eskild Hansen noted that the primary development goal was to simplify the user experience, masking complex technical functions behind a streamlined, intuitive interface.

Launched in 2025, the cart includes an 18.5-inch Full HD touchscreen designed to facilitate treatment discussions. Ergonomic features such as a height-adjustable tray and swivel arm allow for flexible positioning, while a built-in battery provides up to 30 minutes of power, enabling staff to move the station between treatment rooms without interrupting the system.
