Kingfisher and B&Q Appoint New Retail Media Leadership

Kingfisher has appointed former dunnhumby executive Jez Collins as Head of Data Monetisation, marking a strategic push into data-driven customer experiences across Europe. Simultaneously, the group’s home improvement retailer B&Q has tapped former Amazon leader Laura Karsunky to spearhead its own retail media division.

Collins arrives at Kingfisher following a three-and-a-half-year tenure as Retail Media Director at Colateral and a significant 12-year background at dunnhumby. He intends to leverage the company’s data assets to refine customer engagement strategies across its European footprint. His appointment signals a broader corporate effort to formalize data-led growth strategies at the executive level.

At B&Q, Laura Karsunky joins as Director of Retail Media after spending over a decade in senior leadership roles at Amazon. Virginia Wakefield, E-commerce Director at B&Q, described retail media as a primary strategic priority intended to bolster value for both brand partners and consumers. Karsunky is expected to focus on scaling the retailer's existing foundations to drive the next phase of its commercial evolution.
