IsoEnergy Resumes Athabasca Drilling After Wildfire Interruption

After a brief suspension due to nearby wildfires, IsoEnergy has returned to its Larocque East project in Canada’s Athabasca Basin. The company confirmed that all four drill holes completed prior to the evacuation intersected mineralization, providing fresh evidence of the L Fault Zone's potential along the high-grade Hurricane South Trend.

The summer program, which targets 8,000 meters of diamond drilling across 20 holes, remains on schedule despite the fire-related pause. Among the early results, drill hole LE26-250 stands out for hitting 11,075 counts per second (cps) over 3.5 meters, a figure that includes a high-grade 43,160 cps interval over 0.5 meters. These findings suggest the Hurricane deposit’s mineralization extends further east than previously mapped.

Dan Brisbin, the company’s Vice President of Exploration, noted that the consistent presence of anomalous radioactivity in every hole reinforces the prospectivity of the trend. Beyond the immediate drilling, IsoEnergy has aggressively expanded its footprint in the region. By staking 61,830 hectares and securing an option on an additional 31,293 hectares from GEM Oil Inc., the firm has increased its total land holdings in the eastern Athabasca Basin to roughly 344,812 hectares. This consolidation strategy focuses on capturing prospective structural corridors while the company continues to advance its resource development.
