The new store, which faced a brief delay due to technical hurdles during the final stages of construction, aims to capture the fast-paced demand of one of Europe’s busiest transport intersections. Michael Mayer-Sonnenburg, Vice President of REWE To Go, highlighted the location as a critical step in integrating convenience retail directly into the flow of urban mobility. The shop is designed to offer rapid access to fresh products, minimizing wait times for travelers through its self-service model.
Behind the project lies a collaboration between Lekkerland SE, REWE To Go, and DB InfraGO. The launch represents a significant logistical effort, requiring months of preparation to ensure the automated systems function reliably within the high-pressure environment of the station. The team is now shifting its focus to customer feedback as the store begins its around-the-clock operations.
