Patriot Front Marches on Washington During 250th Anniversary

The presence of the group, which the Southern Poverty Law Center identifies as an image-obsessed organization rooted in the 2017 'Unite the Right' rally, drew sharp condemnation from observers. Georgetown Law professor Josh Chafetz described the scene on Pennsylvania Avenue as a 'fascist hellscape,' noting the marchers were entirely male and masked. Human rights lawyer Mai El-Sadany highlighted the group's manifesto, which advocates for a white ethnostate while promoting antisemitic and xenophobic rhetoric.

Demonstrators were captured on video outside Union Station chanting slogans such as 'Reclaim America' and 'Life, liberty, victory.' One widely circulated image by a Reuters photographer depicted the masked marchers surrounding a Black woman on the D.C. Metro, an encounter that attorney Aaron Parnas labeled a jarring juxtaposition for the country’s semiquincentennial. Despite the inflammatory nature of the demonstration, authorities reported no further incidents connected to the group’s brief transit through the capital.
