Iona Star Backs Zitcha to Scale Retail Media Infrastructure

Melbourne-based retail media platform Zitcha has secured an undisclosed investment from Iona Star to accelerate its international expansion. The firm plans to leverage the new capital to scale its infrastructure, which enables major global retailers to monetize first-party data across digital, mobile, social, and in-store channels.

Founded in 2022, Zitcha provides the technical framework for retailers to manage their own media networks. Its client roster includes major names such as Bunnings, OfficeWorks, The Warehouse Group, Frasers Group, THG, and Ocado. CEO Troy Townsend noted that the platform is designed to help retailers transition from basic monetization to automated, AI-driven commerce.

Iona Star partner Mike Powell cited the platform's execution and the structural growth of the retail media sector as primary drivers for the investment. By providing the tools to activate first-party data, Zitcha aims to position its partners for the next phase of personalized consumer experiences.
