Jean-Baptiste de Boissieu Appointed Managing Director at SVP

Strategic Value Partners has bolstered its European investment team with the hire of Jean-Baptiste de Boissieu as Managing Director. Based in the firm’s London office, he will spearhead efforts in liquid and private credit, alongside restructuring and special situations, as the global firm seeks to expand its footprint across Europe.

De Boissieu arrives at the alternative investment firm following a tenure as Managing Director at Davidson Kempner, where his work centered on capital structure investments. His professional background also includes positions at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers, where he initially entered the industry via the M&A division. With over 20 years of experience navigating European credit and equity landscapes, he is tasked with sourcing and executing deals in a shifting market.

Bouk van Geloven, Co-Head of the European Investment Team, noted that De Boissieu’s track record in private equity and complex restructurings aligns with the firm’s growth strategy. Since its establishment in 2001 by Victor Khosla, SVP has deployed more than $20 billion across Europe. The firm currently manages approximately $21 billion in assets globally, maintaining operations across Greenwich, New York, London, Tokyo, and Dubai.
