Newmark Taps CBRE Veteran Munish Viralam to Lead Consulting Expansion

Viralam arrives at Newmark following a tenure at CBRE, where he earned the Consulting Group’s Professional of the Year distinction twice. In his new role, he will integrate Newmark’s existing consulting and financial services teams, including leadership figures Jason Perla and Romel Cañete. The practice aims to serve as a force multiplier for the firm’s brokers, providing a structured approach to lease negotiations, market assessments, and multi-market transaction management.

Newmark CEO Barry Gosin emphasized that the appointment reflects a broader strategy to prioritize planning and analytical rigor in the face of increasingly complex client requirements. According to Sean Moynihan, Newmark’s Regional Managing Director for the Tri-State area, Viralam’s expertise will be deployed to connect best practices across the firm's global platform. Viralam noted that the move to Newmark is driven by the firm's entrepreneurial culture and the opportunity to scale strategic consulting frameworks within one of the sector's fastest-growing organizations.
