Adobe’s latest market analysis indicates that total online spending for June is set to hit £10.39 billion, a 14.3% year-on-year rise largely attributed to the scheduling change. Because the event coincides with the 2026 World Cup, consumers are pivoting toward late-tournament upgrades for their home viewing setups. Forecasts highlight significant spikes in demand for streaming devices, projected to climb 65%, alongside a 60% surge in projector sales and a 45% increase for televisions.
Beyond football-related electronics, the timing of Prime Day—falling just ahead of the peak season for UK house moves—is expected to catalyze a secondary wave of spending. Categories tied to home improvement and property preparation are seeing aggressive growth projections. Power and hand tools are forecasted to rise by 120%, while smart home technology and home decor are expected to see increases of 105% and 55% respectively. With electronics discounts reaching up to 15%, the event is positioned to capture consumer interest across a broad spectrum of lifestyle and household needs.
