Macy's Hires Tiffany & Co. Veteran to Lead Omnichannel Strategy

After seventeen years at Tiffany & Co., Amanda Wells has moved to Macy's to serve as Principal of Customer Experience for Omnichannel. Her appointment arrives as the retail giant aggressively pursues a new strategy for its loyalty programs and store-based insights, marking a significant transition between two iconic American retail brands.

Wells will oversee the development of omnichannel customer experience strategies, aiming to bridge the gap between digital engagement and physical retail presence. This leadership shift coincides with Macy’s broader technological overhaul, specifically the integration of the Pentaleap platform into its retail media network. By partnering with Pentaleap, Macy’s intends to create a more flexible advertising ecosystem that allows brands to manage sponsored placements across various platforms while prioritizing user experience.

Michael Krans, VP of Retail Media at Macy’s, noted that the collaboration is designed to increase relevance for shoppers while expanding access to new demand sources. As the company refines its digital infrastructure, industry attention is also turning toward the 2026 RTIH Innovation Awards, which continue to highlight advancements in the global retail sector. The awards ceremony is scheduled for November 4 at The HAC in Central London, reflecting the ongoing industry focus on navigating the rapid evolution of digital and traditional retail integration.
