The platform centralizes the fragmented pilgrimage booking process, allowing users to coordinate travel logistics alongside verified Umrah visa requests. Mamoun Hmidan, Chief Business Officer at Wego, noted that the initiative integrates airfare, accommodations, and ground services into a single interface to improve transparency for travelers. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will maintain regulatory oversight to ensure service quality and compliance across the ecosystem.
To accommodate diverse traveler needs, Wego is introducing three service tiers. The Essential tier covers basic airport reception and support, the Standard tier adds intercity transportation between Makkah and Madinah, and the Premium tier provides private transfers and curated sightseeing options. All transactions are processed in Saudi Riyals at the time of booking to mitigate unexpected costs. The platform also includes consumer protection policies, such as flexible booking modifications and multilingual customer support, to assist users from global markets.
