The two new lens designs, now available through VSP, cater to different professional environments. Sequel Computer is tailored for heavy desktop use, featuring 50% of its total ADD power at the fitting point to optimize clarity for distances up to four feet. In contrast, Sequel Meeting is engineered for those moving between monitors and wider workspaces, offering support for focal points up to 10 feet away with 30% of the ADD power at the fitting point.
These additions bring the total Sequel portfolio to six designs, all incorporating the brand's signature prismatic effect. By addressing both accommodation and convergence, the lenses aim to reduce the muscular strain caused by constant screen-switching. According to clinical data provided by Newton, 91% of patients reported a reduction in strain symptoms, with progressive lens wearers seeing an average improvement of 71%. Dr. Collin Gray, owner of Eyecare of Lehi, noted that the increased availability through VSP allows more patients to access these solutions, which specifically target the fatigue inherent in modern, sustained near-vision tasks.
