Giorgio Bargiani Named Altos Bartenders' Bartender for 2026

Voted by his peers across Europe’s top-tier drinking establishments, Giorgio Bargiani, the Assistant Director of Mixology at London’s Connaught Bar, has secured the Altos Bartenders' Bartender Award. This accolade recognizes his profound influence on the global cocktail landscape and his dedication to the craft of hospitality.

Bargiani’s rise within the industry tracks a decade of meticulous work at the Connaught Bar. Starting as a bar-back in 2014, he navigated the ranks to become Head Mixologist by 2019, eventually shaping the venue’s signature Martini service and personalized guest experiences. His background, rooted in the family restaurant business in Pisa and stints at prestigious locations like Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, provided the foundation for his focus on human connection and creative precision.

The award, presented ahead of the inaugural Europe’s 50 Best Bars ceremony on June 30, relies on nominations from fellow bartenders who highlight peers making the most significant impact on the sector. Emma Sleight, Director of Content for the organization, noted that Bargiani’s industry-wide admiration stems from his consistent commitment to service-led bartending. For Bargiani, the recognition serves as a testament to the community-driven nature of the profession, emphasizing the positive influence bartenders exert through their daily interactions.
