Ballard Power Systems Secures 15 MW Stationary Fuel Cell Order

Vancouver-based Ballard Power Systems has secured a 15-megawatt order for its hydrogen fuel cell modules, marking a repeat purchase from a renewable off-grid power specialist. The deal, which mirrors a similar volume placed in 2024, signals deepening commercial traction for zero-emission alternatives to traditional diesel generators in remote settings.

The contract includes 150 units of the FCmove-HD+ 100 kW fuel cell modules, with shipments scheduled to commence in the second half of 2026. These systems are slated for use in mobile hydrogen gensets, targeting high-demand environments such as construction sites, large-scale live events, and film production, as well as critical infrastructure backup.

Chief Executive Officer Marty Neese noted that the repeat order serves as a validation of the company's technology in providing quiet, reliable, and clean power. Ballard plans to support the deployment through integrated service packages, specifically focusing on predictive maintenance and performance optimization. The company’s stationary solutions are increasingly positioned as a scalable, low-noise replacement for conventional diesel power, fulfilling requirements for prime, peak, and emergency energy needs globally.
