Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds Settle $2.1 Million Estate Dispute

Five contractors have dropped their mechanic’s liens against Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ South Salem estate, ending a $2.1 million dispute over unpaid construction costs. The resolution comes after court filings confirmed the claims were satisfied in late May, clearing a significant hurdle for the couple’s private 110-acre compound.

The controversy stemmed from extensive renovations on the couple's New York property, which they purchased for $12 million in 2018. Among the largest claims was a $1.3 million demand from Flower Construction, covering a vast array of work ranging from masonry and electrical systems to custom millwork. Additional contractors sought payment for specialized installations, including copper roofing and complex drainage systems.

Public records indicate that the liens were amended shortly after the dispute gained media traction, marking a swift conclusion to the legal friction. While the project, once described by Lively as a personal "heaven," saw construction slow significantly between late 2025 and early 2026, the settlement removes the primary barrier to resuming development. The resolution arrives as the couple navigates other legal pressures, including a separate lawsuit involving a March 2024 traffic collision in the Bronx. That case, which targets a holding company linked to Reynolds rather than the actor himself, involves allegations of injury from a crash involving a company-owned Tesla.
