Emily Lewis leaves Glossier to lead retail operations at Meta

After six and a half years steering retail strategy at beauty brand Glossier, Emily Lewis is shifting her focus to the tech sector. She has been appointed Head of Retail Operations at Meta, where she will join the early-stage MetaLabs team to help define the company’s physical retail footprint.

Lewis announced the transition on LinkedIn, expressing gratitude for her tenure at Glossier, where she served as General Manager of Retail and VP. During her time there, she was instrumental in building the brand’s community-focused retail presence. Her move to Meta comes as the tech giant aggressively expands its physical footprint to showcase AI glasses and virtual reality hardware.

Meta is currently scaling its presence through a strategic partnership with Best Buy. The retailer is rolling out 'Meta Lab' installations in over 50 locations this summer. These 900-square-foot spaces are designed as immersive hubs, offering customers hands-on experience with Meta’s product lineup through interactive demos, smart mirrors, and personalized fittings. Christa Wittenberg, Vice President of Global Retail Sales at Meta, noted that the initiative aims to shift consumer perception of personal technology, moving from passive browsing to active, firsthand discovery.
