The collaboration appears on Kid Rock’s new Christian rock album, "Halfway 2 Jesus." On the track "Heal My Faith," Eminem addresses the friction directly, rapping that he and Kid Rock are brothers rather than political enemies. "Liberal and evangelical can agree," he writes, suggesting that their shared history transcends the current ideological divide. Eminem took to social media on October 17 to clarify his stance, stating that the project was not an attempt to choose sides, but a tribute to a friendship that spans nearly four decades.
Kid Rock, who first proposed the collaboration in 2025, noted in a Billboard interview that the two rarely dwell on politics, preferring to focus on their common ground. Despite this, the reaction from Eminem’s fanbase has been largely polarized. Many listeners expressed deep disappointment, arguing that working with a high-profile Trump supporter contradicts the anti-racism values Eminem has championed in recent years. Others, however, praised the move as a rare example of civility in a volatile political climate. The two artists, who first met in 1990 when a young Eminem challenged the then-rising Kid Rock to a rap battle, have maintained intermittent professional ties since the late 1990s, appearing on each other's early records long before their public political identities were solidified.
