Dispatch audio from the October 12 flight detailed a chaotic scene where crew members required medical attention for bite marks and bleeding injuries. Authorities allege that after being restrained and transported to a hospital, Blair continued her aggressive behavior, purportedly kicking a Port Authority officer in the head. A hospital nurse later filed additional assault charges against the actress.
Blair’s legal counsel attributed the behavior to a severe medical emergency. During the arraignment, the attorney argued that the actress had missed doses of medication prescribed for her multiple sclerosis—a condition she has managed publicly since her 2018 diagnosis. The defense suggested that the combination of missed medication and high-altitude travel triggered a state of profound disorientation and confusion. Hours before the flight, the actress had noted in a social media exchange that she was struggling emotionally, telling a follower, "I am not great."
This incident follows a 2016 episode on a Delta flight from Mexico where Blair experienced a verbal outburst, which she later attributed to mixing alcohol with prescription medication. Delta officials confirmed the recent event did not impact the aircraft's operation, though they reiterated a zero-tolerance policy regarding unruly behavior. Blair is scheduled to return to court on January 19, 2027.
