The updated platform, unveiled at IMEX Las Vegas, targets groups of at least 50 delegates traveling to a common destination. By providing a dedicated booking link, the alliance allows attendees to manage their own itineraries across 15 member airlines while accessing preferential fares. Roger Blackburn, vice president of Commercial and Loyalty at Oneworld, noted that despite digital advancements, the demand for in-person connection remains a critical driver for corporate and association events.
This relaunch arrives alongside a trend report produced with travel forecasting agency Globetrender, which highlights a transition toward "experience-first" conferences. The research suggests that organizers must now justify the return on investment for physical attendance, as travelers become increasingly selective about their professional commitments. Emerging trends include the rise of "geo-compression," where airline network expansions redraw the map of viable meeting locations, and the transformation of airport-adjacent areas into primary hubs for business gatherings. According to Globetrender CEO Jenny Southan, the next five years will favor events that treat destinations as core content, moving beyond standard conference formats to deliver immersive, high-value experiences.
