American Express Partners with SailGP for Hong Kong Debut

The upcoming event at the Kai Tak Cruise Terminal marks SailGP’s first foray into the Hong Kong market. Organizers plan to transform the city's waterfront into a high-tech race stadium, where identical F50 catamarans will compete at speeds exceeding 100 km/h. The race has been officially designated an "M" Mark event, a status granted by the Major Sports Events Committee to highlight signature sporting spectacles within the territory.

American Express cardholders gain priority booking access starting October 21, 2026, followed by a window for SailGP+ members on October 23. General ticket sales open to the public on October 27. Sir Russell Coutts, CEO and co-founder of SailGP, described the city as a venue defined by global ambition, while Walter Liu, Head of Asia Region at American Express, emphasized the sponsorship as a move to provide premium, exclusive experiences for the brand's clientele.
