The campaign debuts this month at the Pizza Expo in Columbus, Ohio, where organizers will provide restaurants with promotional kits, including branded pizza boxes and point-of-sale materials. By utilizing the Field to Sealed emblem, businesses can communicate the journey of their ingredients directly to diners, bridging the gap between family farmers and commercial kitchens.
Alec Wasson, Director of Tomato Wellness, noted that chefs are increasingly focused on ingredient transparency and the stories behind their supply chains. The council’s internal research confirms that professional kitchens rely on canned and jarred tomatoes for their year-round consistency, helping to stabilize inventory and minimize food waste. Through this effort, the nonprofit aims to standardize how the industry talks about tomato quality while connecting producers with the professionals who depend on them.
