Frederick Arts Council Debuts Record Label with Local Teen Talent

Knight, a self-taught pianist and Frederick native, will introduce her soulful sound through the release of the tracks "Someone So Bad" and "Bows." The music will reach listeners via major streaming platforms and a physical vinyl pressing, marking the label's first foray into commercial distribution. The launch coincides with an event at 59 South Carroll St., where local hip-hop artist Retro/Ricole will serve as the master of ceremonies.

Executive Director Louise Kennelly stated that the label serves as an extension of the organization's mission to strengthen the local creative economy. This initiative arrives during the Council’s 50th anniversary year, building upon a legacy of grants, public art projects, and community partnerships. By providing a professional platform for emerging voices, the Council aims to ensure that regional artists maintain the resources necessary to reach broader audiences.
