The legal action centers on claims that Beta Bionics misled shareholders regarding the safety and regulatory standing of its flagship iLet Bionic Pancreas. According to the complaint, the company allegedly ignored over 18,000 customer complaints and bypassed essential safety nets in its dosing algorithm. These operational deficiencies came to light following a June 2025 FDA inspection, which identified significant failures in the company's quality management and medical device reporting systems.
Beta Bionics shares suffered a sharp decline during the period, dropping from a high of $31.99 in January 2026 to approximately $8.90 by April. This 72% collapse erased hundreds of millions of dollars in market capitalization. Joseph E. Levi of Levi & Korsinsky, LLP, the firm representing the shareholders, noted that the case hinges on whether investors were provided with an accurate picture of the company's product performance and regulatory health while the stock was artificially inflated.
