To counter the threat of litigation, CRMLS is organizing an MLS Cooperation Legal Defense Fund. The initiative seeks backing from consumer advocates, industry associations, and other MLS organizations to uphold open competition and listing transparency. CEO Art Carter has further outlined the service's position in a recent editorial, characterizing the conflict as a fundamental struggle between equitable access and proprietary control of real estate data.
